Christian Science found me about a year ago, stumbling...

Christian Science found me about a year ago, stumbling in sin and darkness, depending on whisky, tobacco, and opiates for my strength. I had been so long a slave to these habits that any pleasure I seemed to derive, turned into torment. I then believed that God was punishing me for some sin my forefathers had committed, and I had little hope; but when I found God through Christian Science I lost these habits, and regained hearing in one ear, which had been deaf for two years. I was also healed of lung trouble and many other ills.

I am twenty years old, and stay at home nights to study the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," whereas before I came into Christian Science I was in some saloon paying whisky license. I am indeed thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy, for the strength that I have gained to help myself and others.
