Among the Churches

Current Notes

Maine .—Among the agencies working for good at the Maine state prison at Thomaston is the literature on Christian Science provided by those of that faith living in Knox county. Since last December this literature has been liberally introduced there, and is generally read and apparently much appreciated by the prisoners. Each Saturday, seventy-five Christian Science Monitors, a dozen or more Christian Science Sentinels, and occasionally a Journal from the same publishing house are distributed, besides a daily copy of the Monitor. Clean journalism and a wholesome and helpful philosophy of life should not go amiss even in a prison.

Daily Eastern Argus.
