I give this testimony not only to express my gratitude for the knowledge I have received in Christian Science of the healing power of God, but also to give to other people some practical evidence thereof. My childhood and the first years of my youth were joyless, on account of different sicknesses, and at last I was declared by the physicians to be incurable and my days seemed to be numbered. I suffered twice from measles, and then from an eruptive fever which caused severe headache. This headache became chronic and lasted without interruption during two years, until I had Christian Science treatment. At the same time I had a very distressing spinal affection, which caused me such suffering that it was hardly possible for me to walk from one room to another. All these illnesses were indeed enough to make me an invalid, but I also had a weak heart and a chronic bowel difficulty. The physicians gave me medicine as nourishment, and at last I could take no other food. My miserable condition became worse and worse, and for long periods I was fettered to the bed. Besides bodily sufferings, there was mental depression; I had such great fear of everything that I did not dare to be alone in a room.

When all seemed to be hopeless and physicians were unable to help me, my deliverance came from a new and unexpected source. I live in the country in Sweden, far away from the places where the currents of advancing thought are flowing, but my darkness was penetrated by a ray of that light which had come at first from America and which has in such a wonderful way enlightened our knowledge of God, teaching us that He is all-power and always present. My parents received one day a letter from my sister in America, and she asked that we should try to learn about Christian Science and that we should write to a practitioner in Stockholm. I wrote a letter to this person, whom I have never yet seen, and received absent treatment. The effect of it was soon visible. I grew better every day, and after some months I was perfectly healed, so that I have been well without interruption for more than two years. I am able to work and to take part in all the domestic affairs in my home, I am no longer afraid to meet people, I can go anywhere, and am able to live and work as any healthy and sound woman should.

Above all these blessings, I and my parents are very happy. We are very thankful that we also in this distant country have learned that God is a real help in time of trouble and that nothing is impossible for Him I do not yet understand the English language, but I am reading Swedish translations of Christian Science literature in order to learn something of this religion which has given me a new life.—Judith Lidberg, Piltagarden, Lastad, Sweden.
