In gratitude for the many benefits I have received from Christian Science treatment, I desire to add my own to the long list of testimonials from all over the world, with the hope that I may disabuse any person of my age (eighty-four years) of the notion that Christian Science treatment is only efficacious for diseases of the young and middle-aged.

In September, 1911, I had an attack of illness so severe that I could neither eat nor sleep, and the change in my appearance and condition was so marked that acquaintances and relatives were engaged in bidding me good-by. It seemed to them that my age was sufficient cause for my demise without the added attack of severe illness, but the Christian Science practitioner thought differently. He looked away from the mortal body and saw only God's child, whose condition cannot be changed by age or illness, and the resulting restoration to health after eight treatments justified his statements.

Previous to the foregoing demonstration I had tripped over a wire hidden in the grass, and landed on my right arm, injuring the bones and ligaments so severely that I could not change its position without using my left hand. I applied to a surgeon, who pronounced it a very bad case, bandaged my arm, placed it in a sling, and instructed me to call in three days. I deferred the call eight days, meanwhile relying upon Christian Science. When I went to see the surgeon, the improvement was so marked that he called the attention of a visiting surgeon to it. They took turns at twisting my arm in different positions, asking if it hurt. They believed it a wonderful case of surgery.
