One morning I realized the nothingness of error more...

One morning I realized the nothingness of error more forcibly than ever before in many years of experience in Christian Science. For about five days I had been feeling that I was critically ill. I was taken with severe pain in the back, reaching through to the abdomen. I called on a Christian Science friend for help, but fear manifested itself and the attack was not met. I then sent for another Christian Scientist, who had helped me many times before, and in a short time we saw a change for the better. I improved steadily for two days, then one morning a sense of blindness came over me. I tried to rise, but was unable to do so, and after a while I dropped asleep. I awoke feeling better, and I thought of my husband trying to get his own breakfast. Then the nothingness of error came to me with great clearness, and I realized that I could get up; that as God's child I could not be sick, for His idea is spiritual. I arose and went down to where my husband was, and as I entered the room he looked up in amazement, supposing I would have to remain quiet for possibly a long time; but instead, I sat down with him and ate breakfast.

How beautiful it is to know that we do reflect infinite Mind, and can see that evil is powerless and see God's all-power demonstrated in so short a time. For three weeks I felt as if my youthful days had returned once more; it was a foretaste of heaven, harmony, and love which will never be forgotten. When I felt this load of care leave me there was rejoicing, and I had to tell my husband how I came to feel as I did. While still under the sense of a heart weakness the error was erased by silently declaring these words from our text-book: "There is no metastasis, no stoppage of harmonious action, no paralysis. Truth not error, Love not hate, Spirit not matter, governs man" (Science and Health, p. 420). I then called for my copy of Science and Health and read aloud some of its life-giving statements. This experience came to me after years of study, and after each victory it seemed that more light would come, until I now know what is meant by God's reflection.

Many times I have been cheered by our dear Leader's words in Science and Health. I am very grateful for all her teachings, which bring us inspiration and understanding.—MRS. ANNIE E. CHAMBERS, Roberts, III.
