I read with interest the experiences described in your journal for December, where it was found easier to work with a little girl who came from a home where the parents were Christian Scientists than with one who came from a home where fear was largely in evidence. The contrast you draw is clearly in favor of Christian Science, but I should like to point out that its teachings differ widely from any form of mental suggestion.

In Christian Science the knowing of the "truth," to which Jesus referred, is the process by which man is saved from the evils of mortal existence. The great fact that God and the man of His creating are perfect, supports its entire philosophy and practice—just as the fact that basic, unvarying law governs perfectly all mathematical relations, and supports the philosophy and practice of mathematics. It is an understanding, to a degree, of God's perfection, a recognition of the immanence of God as divine Love, which gives to Christian Scientists (both children and adults) a peace and fearlessness which cannot be attained by other means.
