I wish to express my gratitude to God for what Christian Science...

I wish to express my gratitude to God for what Christian Science has done for me. About two years ago I found myself in a very bad condition from what the physician diagnosed as a disease of the bladder. At a consultation of prominent doctors, including a very skilful surgeon, it was decided to operate, and a room was at once engaged at the hospital and the day set for the operation. After I returned home from this consultation, my wife suggested that we try Christian Science. She then began to read to me from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and from the first of her reading there came to me a little understanding of this wonderful truth. Two days later a practitioner took my case, and I was completely healed in a few treatments.

Prior to my healing I had been very skeptical regarding Christian Science, so much so that I looked upon it as a delusion, but when my own healing took place I was convinced that this power came from God, and that it was the same blessed truth which enabled Jesus to heal the sick, cast out devils, and raise the dead. The spiritual uplift that came with this healing, words fail me to describe! I had worn glasses for thirteen years, but I had grasped enough of the truth through my healing to lay them aside, and I have never worn them since. Through this same truth I have also been healed of another trouble, of seven years' standing. This last healing was instantaneous.

During this time (covering nearly two years), neither my wife, myself, nor any of our four children have taken any medicine or used material treatment of any nature whatever, depending wholly upon our better understanding of man's relation to God as revealed to us through Christian Science. The health and happiness of our family have been increased, and we have been privileged to see and know of many evidences of healing, both moral and physical. I wish to say that, though I had been a student of the Bible for many years, I had no conception of its glorious promises and wonderful worth until these were revealed to me through Christian Science. My heart is full of gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, and I am filled with wonder when I think of the great work she has accomplished in so short a time. Such work can only be done when one's thought is attuned to the divine Mind.
