So many things have come to me for which I have cause...

So many things have come to me for which I have cause to be thankful, that I feel I want others to know of my blessing. Not very long ago rumors were afloat that the Christian Scientists were going to organize a church in our suburb, a report which was received by some with a shrug of disdain, and to many of us the news was unwelcome. It was all done so quietly, however, that we thought the rumor unfounded, until one Sunday morning we saw streams of people going toward the Country Club, and we found that the Christian Scientists had rented the clubhouse to hold services in until their new church edifice was finished. The same crowds gathered Wednesday evenings, all looking very happy. At first we regarded the movement in a rather superior way, then curiosity got the better of us, and we found ourselves one Sunday morning joining the late goers.

At this time I had been suffering from a condition which caused mental disturbance, and at times gave me a great deal of trouble from blood pressure, dizziness, etc., and there was nothing that afforded me any relief. Even my husband, who was a physician, could give me nothing to help me. I went to church that morning miserable, physically and mentally, and in sorrow over the loss of a dear sister. We reached the hall in which the services were held just as the silent prayer was announced. My first thought was to stand till it was over, and then a desire came to me to worship with these people; which I did throughout the service. I was healed during that Sunday morning service Oct. 13, 1907, although I had never heard of such an occurrence, and it filled me with awe and gratitude. The dawning of the spiritual sense, and the uplifting that came to me, are the most beautiful gift of all; and the truth with all its blessings, as it was unfolded to me, has filled me with love and gratitude. The dawning of the spiritual sense, and the uplifting that came to me, are the most beautiful gift of all; and the truth with all its blessings, as it was unfolded to me, has filled me with love and gratitude for our dear Leader; and her name, which once was a stumbling-block, is now revered not only by me but also by my husband and son.

Since coming into Science I have been healed of many ills,—stomach and bowel disorders of many years' standing; of irritability; of a feeling of loss; of sorrow for the dear ones who have passed on. Now there is no longer a feeling of separation for them, but a daily, hourly communion with the one Mind, which makes me feel that we need not dread death if only we understand Life. I have found that there is no condition in human experience that is not met by divine Love. To grow in the understanding of Christian Science, to be diligent and faithful in thought and deed, is my earnest desire.
