FROM OUR EXCHANGES

[Rev. Frank N. Riale, Ph.D., in The Christian Work and Evangelist.]

If we are willing to be led of the Spirit we will sooner or later see that Christ's facing of death, and his final triumph, are but the "firstfruits" of the great harvest God is ripening everywhere. Christ's great victory over death and the grave was but the first great demonstration of the great divine purpose for every one of us. As we believe this in our very heart of hearts, we will soon begin to realize the unspeakable glory of God revealed in it. If thou shalt believe God's purpose for thee, as one grafted into the true vine heaven planted in earth for all to be grafted into, is to glorify Himself in thy body and thy spirit, which are His — glorify Himself in thee as He did in the "true vine" — thou shalt see something more wondrous than that witnessed at Lazarus' graveside. The glories of the empty tomb in the risen Christ — the glories of the ascension — shall come to be thine. He who said, "Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die," hath promised this.

[Rev. Elmer S. Forbes in The Christian Register.]
