I feel that it would be ungrateful to withhold my testimony...

I feel that it would be ungrateful to withhold my testimony any longer, as I was prompted to try Christian Science by reading the testimonies of others. I grew up under the belief that I was a very delicate child; it was supposed that I would not live very long, and one physician informed me that not an organ of my body was performing its proper function. My main trouble, however, was a rheumatic affection of the heart which had supposedly become organic. I was taken to one of our large cities for treatment, and for a time seemed to improve, but after my return I grew worse and became very ill. I was visited for weeks by a physician who did all that he could for my relief. He finally said that I might possibly derive some benefit from a change of climate. At this time I could not walk half a block, and was taking medicine every hour. While debating what was best to do, a friend loaned me some Christian Science literature, which I read. A little later I called on a practitioner for help, and in a short time I was healed.

My mother was also healed of a difficulty of twenty-five years' standing. It is now five years since my healing, and my health is good, Christian Science having been my only physician during this time for any minor ailments which appeared. Through the earnest solicitation of near relatives I recently submitted to a rigid physical examination by a physician, who pronounced me well; that not a vestige of the old complaint remained. My heart indeed goes out in thankfulness to our Leader, and to all who have helped me on the way.
