Flu symptoms halted

I would like to share an immediate healing that took place when my daughter was in high school. One evening after we had all gone to bed, she came into my bedroom and told me she wasn’t feeling well. I asked her to go back to her room and I would be right there. After she left, my very first thought was addressed to God: “Father, this is Your child.” The next thought that came to me was, “O gentle presence, peace and joy and power,” a verse from a poem titled “Mother’s Evening Prayer” (Mary Baker Eddy, Poems, p. 4). This reassured me that God was right there tenderly caring for my daughter, wrapping her lovingly in His protective embrace. Then I got up to go to my daughter’s bedroom.

When I walked in, she was sitting on her bed, and she looked at me and asked, “What just happened?” She was overwhelmed with joy and gratitude, for she was completely healed! Only later did she tell me that she had been experiencing flu-like symptoms, including chills and uncontrolled shaking.

How very thankful we both are for this immediate proof of God’s tender, loving care for His children. Our Father’s love always surrounds us each and every beautiful, joy-filled day!
