Light that never goes out

We think about Christmas all year long. It’s true! (Well, maybe we’re not constantly baking pies, singing carols, or putting sparkling lights around our cubicles.)

But honoring the Christ is really a very natural and consistent part of every article the Sentinel publishes. So celebrating the Christmas season, perhaps, is just the whipped cream on the pie, a chance to, first and foremost, realize the amazing impact Jesus’ birth and ministry had on the world, and to celebrate the Christ that can never, ever die or disappear.

We’re so pleased to be able to gift you with a batch of articles that glow with what Christmas is all about. With the spirit of ecumenical sharing in thought, Barbara Vining writes: “What a wonderful opportunity this season is, then, for people who love Jesus to open their hearts and minds anew to one another’s views on his identity and role—regardless of how divergent those views may seem to be—and discover what unites us in his love.” And Walt Rodgers recounts an experience when Christmas plans fell through and disappointment threatened to set in. I won’t give away the details. But gratitude and a commitment to selflessness go a long way.
