BEYOND THE LIMITED VIEW

THIS WEEK'S BIBLE LESSON, titled "Matter," comes in a group of five related Lessons that address the ultimate nature of reality: "Substance," "Matter," "Reality," "Unreality," "Are Sin, Disease, and Death Real?"

The search to determine the nature and origin of matter has occupied physicists for centuries. Ever since Young's Double Slit Experiment in 1803, involving the study of beams of light (www.doubleslitexperiment.com), the concept of "observer-created reality" has been inescapable, and has taken its place in the lexicon of quantum physics. This week's Lesson explores the subject from a spiritual and metaphysical basis.

The question of how and what we see is posed in the Golden Text from the book of Revelation: "I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away." The writer has perceived something beyond the evidence of the physical senses—a state of spiritual harmony and completeness that transcends his previously limited perception of heaven and earth.
