DENTAL ISSUE AND STOMACH PAIN HEALED

Mid-year in 2009, at a dental checkup, a technician said I would need a root canal on a tooth. She actually wanted to take some steps at that moment. I'd never had an issue like this with this dentist, so it seemed very unusual. I knew I wanted to spend some time in prayer about this before any further steps were agreed upon, so I insisted that she not go forward. Before leaving the office, I was told I'd need to schedule a root canal with a specialist.

After I was home, I looked through some of the recent Christian Science periodicals for inspiration, and there in the testimony section was a healing of a condition requiring a root canal. I was so grateful! The idea that divine Love supplies all our needs was so perfectly communicated to me. As I gratefully accepted the spiritual truths the testifier shared, my thought became peaceful, and I knew that God's love was in control.

My favorite and dearest prayer over the years has been the poem by Mary Baker Eddy "Mother's Evening Prayer," and I thought about this as well. The first line alone is an all-encompassing prayer to me. To know that God is a "gentle presence," guiding and controlling with "peace and joy and power," has often harmonized my thought quickly. And this time was no exception. The ideas from that poem helped me turn completely to God. My prayers left me feeling at peace.
