GOD WILL BE THERE

The future can be a daunting prospect, framed by uncertain questions. Will I find a job in the new year? Will my health improve? Will I be able to hold on to my home? Will my loved ones be safe in war zones?

These aren't foreign questions for most of us. They permeate daily news and conversations. Yet, the answers don't have to wait for tomorrow. Facing the future with confidence and conviction is possible right now, through the lens of prayer.

I find this line from a hymn in the Christian Science Hymnal reassuring: "He that has made my heaven secure, will here all good provide ..." (No. 244). Christ Jesus taught that the kingdom of God is here, now! That kingdom—the totality and availibility of divine Love's goodness, power, and majesty—is gently guiding our thoughts and experiences today and tomorrow.
