THE LOGIC OF IT ALL

JESUS TAUGHT, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you" (Matt. 7:7). The public healing practice of Christian Science has brought this promise alive for me.

When I first heard of Christian Science, I was working as a computer programmer. I had plenty of practice solving problems involving numbers and logistics, but I yearned to solve life's deeper problems.

When I was a child and in my early teens, I'd learned to love the Bible, but I had no idea of the potential of its teachings to change lives. Then suddenly, with Christian Science, the spiritual logic behind Jesus' healings made sense. I felt awe that there could be a profound, yet simple, answer to the enigma of human existence. Jesus' works illustrated for me how the healing Christ can come to each of us right now—with both comfort and physical healing. I saw that Jesus could heal because he understood the Science of Being (explained by Mary Baker Eddy in Science and Health) and that this Science was available for everyone to practice. This gave me insight into the role of a Christian Science practitioner.
