BARUCH HASHEM — THANK YOU, GOD

The Old Testament of the Bible records the lives of the Israelites, who began and protected the worship of the one God. These heroes have been an inspiration and strength for me ever since I began my study of Christian Science in my mid 20s. They've taught me about God's loving presence and about His power to overcome any adverse circumstance. Their stories came to life for me, and I felt a great kinship with those who had so faithfully safeguarded the worship of God.

Mary Baker Eddy observed, "With one Father, even God, the whole family of man would be brethren; and with one Mind and that God, or good, the brotherhood of man would consist of Love and Truth, and have unity of Principle and spiritual power which constitute divine Science" (Science and Health, pp. 469—470). It was this understanding of the one God, who is Mind, Love, Truth, and Principle, that allowed me to feel a natural sense of brotherhood with those of different religions from my own. Little did I realize that I was laying the groundwork for an experience that would allow me to learn much more about unity with my fellow man.
