SWEPT UP IN HEALING

ABOUT 25 YEARS AGO, Christian Science changed my life. I felt content and was free of nagging addictions, disappointment, and aimlessness. Unexpectedly I was accepted at a good art school on scholarship. After that, I got married.

Then many years later, as I prayed through a difficult personal trial, I got a clearer glimpse of the unchanging fact that God is Life. I came to realize that vibrancy and existence were not locked in the human condition. Going through that trying experience blessed me, and I grew spiritually.

But suddenly my job at a design firm felt unfulfilling and no longer satisfying. I seriously wondered, "What am I doing to help others who are suffering?" At the time I was a Reader in my local Christian Science church. During each service, as I read aloud from the Bible and Science and Health, each line became more meaningful to me than ever before. I kept thinking: "This is it! Science and Health is the owner's manual to life, health, and happiness. This is the absolute truth."
