LETTERS

Thank you for the article by Michelle Nanouche, "Comfort in times of grief," in the September 15 issue of the Sentinel. The article demonstrates the power of spiritual thinking when we turn to God for comfort in times of grief.

I come from a community where people live in fear of death, instead of cherishing the joy of eternal life. Consequently, according to a recent media report in my country, Kenyans spend up to Ksh. 7.2 billion (US $96 million) a year on elaborate and lavish burial ceremonies. This, in my view, cannot substitute the need to affirm the truth about Life when we assemble to give a good sendoff to our loved ones. The Scriptures reveal that life in God is eternal, and that we can never be separated from God. In addition, Christian Science proves that death is an illusion as Christ Jesus proved in his own resurrection.
