Immobility, a fall, and a call for help answered

Two recent healings have proved to me the power of prayer. Not long ago I was standing on a stool to water plants on an upper shelf. As I stepped down, I found I had no strength or control in one leg. It just gave way.

I was able to hop around but couldn't climb the stairs to my bedroom, much less walk normally. I was supposed to attend a school function for my grandson that evening, and I chose to go ahead with my plans. With the help of others I was lifted in and out of vehicles as needed.

All along that evening I was praying silently to myself the Lord's Prayer. I also prayed with "the scientific statement of being" in Mary Baker Eddy's book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (p. 468). I've come to think of this passage as the statement of true, spiritual existence in the here and now, not for some far-off day. The statement concludes by saying that man (including all men and women) "is not material; he is spiritual" (p. 468).
