Peacemaking—and the one God

Over the past several months, the Sentinel has introduced you to several "peacekeepers"—including an Army chaplain with NATO, an international correspondent covering the Middle East, and a Jewish rabbi living in the US.

In this week's issue, you'll meet two more peacekeepers—Suzanne Becker, a Christian Scientist who has recently completed graduate studies in multiculturalism; and Al-Haaj Ghazi Y. Khankan, a Muslim Imam, who explains how he prays for peace and understanding in the Middle East.

Though these two peacemakers speak from different perspectives, you'll probably feel, as the Sentinel staff did, that there's a remarkable commonality in what they say. Both point us toward the one universal God—call Him Allah, God, divine Love, or something else—who loves all His children equally, and without reservation. Both turn to God to strengthen them in their efforts to draw people and cultures together.
