YOUR LETTERS

"The Sentinel interview shows the spiritual perspective that sustains [Marian Wright Edelman's] message and actions—and can help us in our own."

The March 6 issue of the Sentinel lifted my thought and filled my heart with joy. By the time I got to the editorial, "A life of prayer, and prayers of joy," I was inspired to write this poem:

Father, I surrender unto Thee, Let Thine angels counsel me: Collate thought, help me see, Thine ever-presence shines brightly. All that's done, in thought and deed, Is by You supplied, according to need: Oh, Love divine, Truth so pure, You're the only I Am, of that I'm sure!

Thank you for the love that fills your periodicals. Oh yes, regarding this editorial's question "Do you ever smile when you pray?" I'm smiling now.
