Effects of injury healed

On a winter day in 1994 I slipped on some porch steps that were icy and fell to the ground, injuring my left leg severely. The pain was extreme, and the leg appeared to be in an unnatural position. When I tried to get up, I found the leg could not bear any weight. There was no one around to help me. My husband had gone to return a small truck we had rented. I had stayed to lock up the house and was then to drive our car over to the rental place to pick him up.

As I lay there I thought how ridiculous this was. How could I be so helpless? Then I realized that I wasn't, in fact, helpless, and I began to pray. I knew immediately that because there are no accidents in God's kingdom, where I truly live, no results of accidents could occur. God's love completely surrounds me always. He would never let me, or anyone, fall out of His loving embrace.

It came to me very clearly that under God's law of love, nothing, no evil, could keep me from being where I needed to be. I had the God-given strength I needed to get up and hop to the car. I drove to our meeting place. As soon as my husband saw me, his comforting and sustaining affection embraced me.
