FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Fed God's love

Going off to college was very difficult. Paul had never been away from his family for such a long time, nor had he ever been so far from home. Of course, he was making new friends and doing new things, but it just wasn't the same as being with his family and friends back home.

One of the hardest things for him to get used to was the college food; it was so different from what he knew and liked. Before long he found that he was having trouble eating anything at all. When a college friend invited him to her home for a weekend, Paul was overjoyed at the thought of home-cooked meals once again. His joy, however, was short-lived when he discovered that even the meals served by his friend's mother seemed unappetizing, though they were well prepared.

In spite of this difficulty, he enjoyed meeting his hostess. She was a Christian Scientist and a very loving person. For many years Paul had attended a Christian Science Sunday School. He had learned the importance of getting to know God better and understanding our spiritual relation to Him. Paul enjoyed the talks he had with his hostess about Christian Science that weekend. They helped him to understand even more clearly what he had been learning in Sunday School.
