Science and Health: a textbook for healers

Few would deny that the world is in need of healing or that we each individually desire—sometimes desperately—to be healed of the troubles we feel in our bodies or in our lives. The crowds that flocked around Christ Jesus during his day show that, from that time to this, the human condition has been one where healing is eagerly sought after.

Matthew's Gospel tells us of Jesus that "his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judæa, and from beyond Jordan" (4:24, 25).

In Jesus' time, people wanting help had to find him, personally, and later they looked for his disciples and followers. Today, there is a book that people seeking healing can look to, Science and Health. It is a book that is based on the Master's teachings, as presented in the Bible. It is a book that heals.
