It is high time to put in writing my gratitude for three recent healings. During the past year the sight in one eye seemed threatened after a broken car aerial pierced it. Although at first in great pain, I recalled that my son had been healed quickly of a similar accident to his eyes some years before, and so I sat down to pray and asked my daughter to telephone a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me.

The pain subsided almost at once, and by the next day, adorned with a homemade eye patch, I was able to drive into London and meet my business commitments. Within about three days I removed the patch and refused to allow the still troublesome symptoms to interfere with my normal activities.

However, from that point there seemed to be no further improvement in my sight for some weeks. Indeed, I found that there were days when, to do any work at my desk, I was resorting to the use of the reading glasses I had acquired some years earlier. Dispiriting suggestions of double vision and possible permanent damage kept on recurring to my thought.
