A Couple of weeks after our second child was born, I had a condition of hemorrhaging. While my children and I were accompanying my husband on an extended business trip to another part of the country, I made an appointment with a doctor there. After examining me, he expressed great concern and said that I needed surgery upon returning home.

Later I opened a copy of The Christian Science Journal and found the listing of a Christian Science practitioner in that city. I called and he invited me to come visit with him. He expressed so much compassion and love that I poured out all the unhappiness that had been welling up in me for some time. When I expressed my fears regarding the doctor's findings, he assured me that they were not based on my real spiritual being as God's idea. At that time my understanding of Christian Science was limited and I didn't understand this statement; but what a joy it was to learn its meaning as time went on.

The practitioner said that he would be happy to help me through prayer, and I felt my first ray of hope and peace in a long time. In less than a week the hemorrhaging stopped. Although it was to recur off and on for a time, with the firm prayerful support I received it stopped permanently. My conviction in trusting Christian Science for healing was confirmed.
