In 1919 I became ill with flu on two occasions. The first time I recovered very quickly as a result of prayer, but the second time the situation was more challenging. I was in bed for some days and had difficulty sleeping and eating.

One day my aunt came over, and my mother told her that I was ill and in the bedroom. My aunt came in and we talked a few minutes. She spoke to me of God's allness and about the fact that I was truly His spiritual reflection. I went to sleep right away and slept all night. In the morning I was completely well and so grateful for my healing in Christian Science.

In January of 1987 I suffered with symptoms of pneumonia. I prayed for myself and requested the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner. The practitioner gave me references to study from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and Mrs. Eddy's other writings. He also encouraged me to be grateful to God and to be joyous.
