A small growth on my right eyelid appeared after an insect bite

A small growth on my right eyelid appeared after an insect bite. At first I paid little attention to it. At the time, I was busy serving as a new chairman of a symphony guild that supported the orchestra in our region. The position required my taking photographs at various events, then writing up the story for two dailies, one weekly, and one monthly publication. It was demanding work, and I felt under pressure.

When the condition became aggravated and affected my vision, I realized the importance of overcoming it through study and prayer in Christian Science. My husband and I went ahead with plans for a winter vacation at a ranch where we had gone the previous January. And I looked forward to spending time in prayerful study.

Activities at the ranch included horseback riding, tennis, golf, swimming. At first I was hesitant to ride the horses, as my vision was a bit blurred, but I found I was able to ride with ease and maintain good balance.
