I am happy to tell of occasions when I have been blessed through Christian Science by claiming man's God-given dominion.

Some years ago, while I was carrying out my household duties, something seemed to give way in the lower portion of my back. There was sudden and severe pain, making any bodily movement extremely difficult. For several nights I found it impossible to lie in bed. But I recall with joy that I spent those wakeful hours in quiet prayer for myself, acknowledging the ever-presence of God, divine Love.

During this time I kept in daily touch with a friend who is dedicated to the study and practice of Christian Science. We had many fine conversations, recognizing God as the only creator of all, and man as His spiritual idea. We also spoke much of the Bible verse in Psalms which tells us that it is God "who healeth all thy diseases" (103:3). After one such conversation the pain I had been suffering suddenly stopped, and I was completely healed.
