Discover the healing Christ

Christ Jesus lived to show the only scientific way to absolute dominion over sickness, sin, and death. That way is the overcoming of materiality through Christian discipleship in spiritual rebirth. Obviously, then, instead of coming through biotechnological inventions yet to be devised, the ultimate solution to human woes must come through discovery of means that already exist—the purely spiritual means of prayer and holiness that Jesus proved were equal to meeting all human needs.

The discovery of scientific Christian healing was made in 1866, after Mrs. Eddy had been endeavoring to trace physical effects to mental causes. Her search for truth, focusing on the Bible, coincided with the divine revelation, at once fully expressed and constantly imparted, that the only primal and final cause is God.

Mrs. Eddy learned that the effects of limitless, divine Mind, including man created in God's likeness as His image, are as wholly spiritual and good as their perfect cause. It was demonstrated to her that the infinitude of the one Mind, Spirit, or Principle—God—leaves no room for imperfect knowledge, material substance, or fallible law. Therefore sickness, sin, mortality—materialism itself—are without legitimate cause.
