Through the study and application of the truths of Christian Science, my husband and I have been able to prove on many occasions that God is indeed the true source of our supply.

When our children were very young, it was my deep desire (and one with which my husband wholeheartedly concurred) to be able to stay at home with then instead of having to go to work and leave them with a baby sitter. Through all of their growing-up years, my husband's employment was sometimes uncertain and our income fluctuated. Yet we continued our constant daily study of the Bible, together with Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. And we received much inspiration from reading the Christian Science periodicals. Consequently we grew spiritually. Our needs were always met and our standard of living never suffered, even though only one paycheck was coming in. We were able to maintain a calm and confident trust in the guidance of our Father-Mother God.

Though we planned our expenses wisely, we never outlined how or where good would come from. Often we would recall how Christ Jesus had fed the multitude with only five loaves and two fishes. This story was an inspiration to us (see Mark 6:34–44). God's love was expressed in many wonderful ways. Above all, we rejoiced in just being together. We did not make ourselves miserable by wanting "things." Instead we realized that most important to us was God's presence in our lives.
