Obedience and harmony—they go together

Generally, we recognize the importance of human law as defining and governing the relationship of individuals to each other and to society as a whole. How much more we need to understand and value God's law—the law of Love, whose workings become visible to us as we begin to discern the spiritual facts of being.

Foremost among those facts is that God, Love, is All, and that His precious creation dwells harmoniously within His allness, expressing His divine nature. God's law embraces and unites us all, always. It evidences His tender love and munificent care, holding us in sweet concord with each other and with Him. As the legislative mandate of His love for us, God's law is designed not to restrain, but to ensure our freedom, health, and happiness.

Human experience seems often to afford little evidence of God's law or presence. But looking keenly at the basic problems that confront us today, and comparing them with those encountered in times of old, we realize that people in Biblical times had to cope with many of the same exigencies we face. And they discovered that when they trusted God's wise and loving care, they experienced protection, guidance, and healing. The testimonies in the back of this and other Christian Science periodicals, show that today, too, mankind can feel the touch of God's ever-present law of harmony, evidenced in lives regenerated and bodies restored.
