Rainbows and surprises

Our God is a God
full of rainbows and surprises—
who else would ever have thought of
providing bread from the sky
or money from a fish's mouth!
(Limited mortal reasoning,
believing only in bakeries and banks,
is overwhelmed by Soul's creative resources.)

Our God is a God
of wonders and miracles—
an ax swimming in water,
the day the sun stood still,
a virgin giving birth,
and a stone rolled away on a hill.
(Restricted mortal logic,
bound by can't-be-done decrees,
is overruled by Truth's omnipotent law.)

Our God is a God
of unique plans and purposes—
who would ever have guessed
that a shepherd boy would be a king
or a plowman become a prophet?
And what an unexpected surprise
for a carpenter to be the Messiah!
(Unillumined mortal outlining,
consulting only calendars and computers,
is overturned by Mind's inspired revelation.)

Our God is a God
filled with laughter and delight—
angels shouting alleluia,
mountains singing,
trees clapping their hands—
all creation hallowing His bright glory.

And man (unfettered by mortality)
is God's special joy—
praiseworthy and beloved,
reflecting back the Father's smiles,
a child of light crowned with a halo of rainbows!
