"Bloom where you are planted"

The above words caught my attention. They appeared on a poster underneath a picture of a bouquet of brightly colored flowers.

Bloom is a manifestation of fruition. It is the fulfillment of a plant's purpose in the flower garden. Do we as Christian Scientists ever fail to fully bloom? Do we sometimes seem to just exist, to go about our healing mission halfheartedly, instead of taking up arms against every form of discord we encounter? Our field of labor is the whole world, and our specific purpose is to heal sin, sickness, and death right where we are.

We can accomplish this purpose only by radically relying on the divinely scientific laws of being, the laws of God—eternal, unfolding Life, unalterable Truth, inexhaustible Love. These three biblical names for Deity—Life, Truth and Love—are found in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
