Christian Science offers spiritual enlightenment...

Christian Science offers spiritual enlightenment and healing. The challenges confronting people in business today demand that we look deeper than surface issues. By grasping the nature of spiritual reality and of man's true relationship to God, we find answers we need in business and other pursuits—answers that bring progress, higher goals, and better performance.

This week's Sentinel includes articles, editorials, and testimonies illustrating this. Jack Wyman writes from his own experience, in the lead article, "Turning a business around." Margaret Thoren, who was the first woman editor of the London financial journal The Bankers' Magazine, discusses how God's law of unlimited good was demonstrated by Christ Jesus and how this law can be relied on in solving current economic problems. Vickie Verbyla points to a prayer-based solution for the problem of discrimination against women; and Paul Robinson, Jr., offers fresh insight on resolving corporate difficulties. The two editorials in this issue provide a spiritual perspective for considering motives and methods for doing business in the world.

A follow-up editorial, "Business and birth," will appear next week.
