Conviction of sonship

Is there anything more important than understanding who we are and for what purpose we were created? We can become acquainted with ourselves only through first understanding our origin. Creation is spiritual. Mind is its source because God is creative Mind.

According to the Scriptures, Jesus was conscious of his sonship with God when he was twelve years old. Mary and Joseph had taken him to Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover. Afterward, unknown to them, Jesus stayed behind. They were amazed to find him in the temple, talking with learned men, who were impressed with his understanding. Jesus was surprised to see them, for he felt sure they must have known that he was about his Father's business. See Luke 2:41–49;

The Gospels tell us that some years later Jesus came to John to be baptized. When he came up out of the water, "he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: and there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Mark 1:10, 11;
