"I used to be fearful of the future. Now I expect only God's goodness"

Before I knew of Christian Science, I could not understand the Bible; it seemed contradictory, and I could not relate it to my own life. Now, thanks to daily study of the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, using the Christian Science Quarterly as a guide for self-instruction, I have come to love and understand the spiritual meaning of the Bible and its application to daily life.

I used to be very fearful of the future; reports of events with their dire predictions left me feeling helpless. Now I have complete faith in God, whom I know to be solely good, and I expect only good to be evident each day. I have learned that God is my loving Father-Mother, who guides and protects not only me but all mankind.

An awareness of the spiritual nature of God and my relationship to Him has completely changed my life. I have emerged from a feeling of incompleteness to an assuredness that I am really God's spiritual child, made in His image. The recognition of my true spiritual selfhood did not come about suddenly; it was a gradual process that occurred over many years of trials and victories. All the while a material concept of life was yielding to a clearer vision of God's reality. Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, tells us (Science and Health, p. 410), "Every trial of our faith in God makes us stronger." I have received proofs of this.
