Man as God's expression

We may think of a work of art as a painter's expression, or a musical composition as a composer's expression. In each case the artist is doing the expressing. In the spiritual realm God is doing the expressing through His creation, man.

When Moses was receiving instructions from God on how to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, he asked how he should speak of Deity. God answered: "I AM THAT I AM." Ex. 3:14; There is only one real Being, who is responsible for all causation or expression, and that is God. If we acknowledge the perfection of God, then a good explanation of man would be that he is the result of God's expressing Himself perfectly.

The belief that man or any element of man is subject to or limited by changeable matter is contrary to man's true identity. Man, as the expression of Spirit, must always be a spiritual being. His real individuality must be the embodiment of right ideas emanating only from the divine Mind, God.
