Some cities are undergoing a revitalization

Some cities are undergoing a revitalization. This is an important social change affecting the lives and well-being of a great number of people. But much still remains to be accomplished, especially for inner-city people.

Without question, Christian Science, revealing the spiritual nature of man and of life, can play a supportive and healing role in such changes. As these articles and editorials indicate, we can address ourselves, spiritually, to conditions of urban living, realizing that the city offers not only some challenges but great opportunities for individual and collective progress. Through the application of spiritual, scientific truth the challenges can be met and the opportunities broadened. While many people are "rediscovering the city" (this is the phrase sometimes used) we can through Christian Science enjoy a fresh view of the city—we can rediscover the city in a special way through using spiritual sense. The truths and experiences following will point to ways we can make a positive spiritual contribution to urban life.
