A Fresh Start

This moment is spilling over with possibilities. It's another new moment in which God is loving us and seeing us as we really, spiritually are—as He created us—in all our innate purity and perfection.

The only fact of now is the spiritual fact, the ceaseless truth of being. And the truth of our being is unbroken perfection. Because the truth of man is forever established, unchangeable, we can start this moment to bring that truth out in our lives.

Does it seem we're in the middle of trouble, that we can't stop thinking, acting, or feeling a certain way, that we can't shake off a physical difficulty? If so, we can change the direction of our thought immediately. We don't have to drag yesterday's mistakes with us or last year's disease. We aren't chained to matter—to the physical body or the limits of time. Mrs. Eddy encouragingly writes in Science and Health: "If you believe in and practise wrong knowingly, you can at once change your course and do right. Matter can make no opposition to right endeavors against sin or sickness, for matter is inert, mindless. Also, if you believe yourself diseased, you can alter this wrong belief and action without hindrance from the body." Science and Health, p. 253;
