Some years ago, when I was accepted for class instruction by an authorized teacher of Christian Science, I was desperately hard up. I hoped that by the time I was due to go to class I would have enough money for the fortnight I had to stay in London.

It didn't turn out that way. A day or so before the class began, I telegraphed the teacher to say that I couldn't come, as I hadn't enough supply. The reply came back by wire: "Your supply awaits you here."

I went. Somehow I scraped together enough money for the fortnight's stay. Thrilled at the prospect of having class instruction, I walked the streets of London in search of a modest hotel to which my thin budget might be equal. I was confident that God would take care of me throughout the great step of spiritual progress that had opened up for me, but I didn't know how.
