From Christian Science Committees on Publication

The Mail Tribune's editorial, "The Placebo Effect," had some interesting points on the subject of the role of a patient's attitude in the healing process. But it was inaccurate to include Christian Science as one of the mental "techniques" on this same subject.

Christian Science has nothing in common with any of them. Its teachings are Christian, based on the words and works of Christ Jesus. Its method of healing is deep and humble prayer to God.

Its adherents strive to be Christlike, or to express in practical ways Christianized or regenerated lives, and believe with all their hearts that the healing of mankind's ills is the opposite of human willpower.
