My gratitude for the Christian Science periodicals and the inspiring articles and testimonies which appear in them prompts me to share a healing I had several years ago.

One afternoon as I was driving home from a meeting, a driver suddenly turned in front of me and we collided. In the moment that this was taking place I turned to God for help. I sat for a moment just silently declaring God's allness and His ever-presence. The other driver had no injuries. But when I tried to walk, my knees were stiff and very painful.

When I arrived home, my husband asked me to call a practitioner for Christian Science treatment. I was serving as Second Reader at our church and was quite concerned about the possibility of not being able to be in church the next day. While I was speaking with the practitioner I began to feel free. After we finished our conversation I opened my Bible at random to this verse in Isaiah (45:23): "I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear." When I read, "every knee shall bow," it was clear to me that every false belief has to yield to Truth. No error can stand before God. Gratitude so filled my thought that I was completely confident of God's loving care.
