A few years ago a dear friend spoke to me of Christian Science

A few years ago a dear friend spoke to me of Christian Science. I suddenly understood that I had found the truth for which I had been searching for years; and I began regular study of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly (Italian Edition). The study and demonstration of what I was learning in Christian Science gave me marvelous and concrete results: better character, health, serenity, and progress in spiritual understanding of God and His law. Since that time I have had numerous proofs of God's healing power.

First among these was the healing of my adopted son. The child, who was twelve years old, had suffered from the age of nine months with fevers, insomnia, and meningitis. I decided to rely wholeheartedly on Christian Science, and with the patient and wise help of a Christian Science practitioner the boy was completely healed. Since that time, in these three years, his physical growth has been normal, he has been able to attend school regularly, and he has had no more trouble. This healing has confirmed for us what the Bible says (Matt.19:26), "With God all things are possible."

Another healing for which I am deeply grateful took place when I fell on the street. Passersby who helped me advised me to go to a doctor. I declined. Returning home, I confidently thought of the ever-present love of God, who is with us in our every need. I telephoned a practitioner to be sustained in my prayer, and I held my thought firmly to what Mary Baker Eddy says in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (p.424): "Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony."
