Enriching Parent and Child Relationships

Every phase of human growth—infancy, maturity, and adulthood—can be enriching for both parent and child. And this relationship can be greatly blessed by the study and application of Christian Science.

To establish and maintain happiness in family living, it is of fundamental importance to understand the spiritual relationship of God to His children as explained in Science. God's children reflect His pure, loving nature and live in harmony and rapport with one another. It is impossible for conflict and misunderstanding to exist between them. The harmony of Life, the beauty of Soul, the tenderness of Love, the completeness of Principle—all these spiritual qualities and many more are forever expressed by each member of God's family. These true qualities are never interrupted, depleted, or destroyed by such false beliefs as age, self-will, or heredity. Because the one perfect Mind is expressed through the infinite variation of individuality, there is always a spiritual basis for effective family communication.

What a rich blessing it is to gain through the study of Christian Science the spiritual understanding of what family living really includes! As the truth of being is understood, heartache, disappointment, and frustration are removed from family life, and we experience genuine happiness and harmony. It is necessary to understand the spiritual relationship that exists between God and His idea, man, so that the discords and misunderstandings that sometimes seem prevalent in the human family can be overcome and destroyed.
