At one time I went to an eye doctor to have my eyes examined...

At one time I went to an eye doctor to have my eyes examined for glasses. He told me that he had bad news for me. He claimed I had glaucoma, a disease of the eyes which he said was incurable and often resulted in loss of sight. He put me through a very thorough test that proved to him that his diagnosis was correct.

When I arrived home, I began metaphysical treatment for myself. I prayed to our heavenly Father asking guidance for the healing of this problem. Mrs. Eddy tells us in the textbook, Science and Health (p.262), "The foundation of mortal discord is a false sense of man's origin." From past experience I knew that we do not have to accept discord but do need to reject it firmly. I then affirmed the allness of God, good, and the nothingness of matter and knew this need would surely be met, since Mind, being infinite, was not dependent upon the eye for sight. Mrs. Eddy continues further on, "Divine Mind is the only cause or Principle of existence." Part of the definition of "eyes" in the textbook was much in my thought (p. 586): "Spiritual discernment,—not material but mental."

The healing was accomplished in a very short time and has been permanent.
