Capacity Unlimited

Man's true selfhood is spiritual and limitless. His identity and capacity are infinitely greater than those of what appears as the physical, brain-directed organism called a mortal. This fact is indicated in the first chapter of the book of Genesis, where it is written that God, incorporeal and infinite Spirit, or divine Mind, created man in His own image.

Obviously, the image or reflection of boundless Spirit must be as untrammeled as its creator. The expression of the creative Ego, called God, must include the infinitely varied capacities of this one and only cause. Here no limitations or fear of failure can possibly exist, because all real knowing and doing is being performed by God Himself—the one real consciousness or Mind—who is individually manifested by His ideas, His sons and daughters.

These are truths that Mrs. Eddy discovered in her deep study of the Scriptures and made available to all of us through her inspired writings. She proved their practicality in her own life, demonstrating the ever-developing capacities and abilities that enabled her to found and lead her great movement with such conspicuous success. She writes from experience when she says: "A knowledge of the Science of being develops the latent abilities and possibilities of man. It extends the atmosphere of thought, giving mortals access to broader and higher realms. It raises the thinker into his native air of insight and perspicacity." Science and Health, p. 128;
