"All things work together for good to them that love God"...

"All things work together for good to them that love God" (Rom. 8:28). This Bible passage is very important to me because in Christian Science we believe it, and I have proved it to be true. I am continually learning how to love God. I have found that when we see each man as the son of God, perfect as God made him, we are learning to love man and his Maker. We can even love those who despitefully use us, and we learn that God's children cannot despitefully use us.

In the over twenty-three years that I owned and ran a retail store, I daily depended upon God's guidance of my motives in making decisions and giving directions to others. Most of all I turned to God to supply with His great abundance the love necessary for the store's success. I sometimes made mistakes, but I held to the truth that God directs and governs man whenever man is aware of his divine sonship with God. As a result the store supplied our needs.

Just as the store supplied our need for material sustenance as we strove through prayer to obey God's direction, so God supplied the many needs we had in raising our family. Our two daughters went to the Christian Science Sunday School when they were old enough, and they went through college without the need or use of medicines.
