No Sunsets in Heaven

Old age is sometimes referred to as "the sunset years." It's an appropriate phrase because a sunset is just as much of an illusion as old age is, no matter how real each may seem to be.

We talk about sunrises and sunsets, but we all know that actually the sun never rises or sets. It is the turning earth that causes what seem to be the sunrise and sunset. The sun knows neither dawn nor dusk but just goes right on being the source of daylight.

So it is with God, divine Spirit, who knows nothing of birth or death, of infancy or senility. He goes right on being eternal Life, the source and cause of all true existence. Nor do His children, who dwell with Him forever in heaven, eternal harmony, ever experience beginnings or endings. Each one, in his or her true spiritual selfhood, is God's immortal child.
